Ferrari F430 GT





The Ferrari F430 GT is a stripped down version of the road car meant for endurance racing. It has been used in many road-race series including FIA GT2, ALMS, International Open GT and Italian GT events.

The F430 GT's major debut was at the 12 Hours of Sebring where Risi Competizione took third overall. It was a resounding success for an 'out of the box' racer which won it's first local race at Imola for the inaugural round of the 2006 Italian GT Championship.

The F430 does without driver aids and a production interior. It has an new body with a combination of carbon fibre, nomex and kevlar that gives a weight of 1100 kgs. It also shares its aluminum chassis with the road car but features a smaller version of its V8 that breaths through two 28mm air restrictors for FIA-sanctioned races.

Compared to the 360 GTC it replaces, the new model's biggest feature is a 4.0 V8 which offers plenty more torque and more compact dimensions thanks to a new bearing design. After extensive wind tunnel testing the body also gives more down force and the F430 chassis offers much more torsional rigidity than the 360's. With these changes, the is strong contender in GT2 championships and tuned the tide on Porsche's GT3 RSR.

Dodge viper
The Dodge Viper is a hand-built sports car that was produced from 1992 to 2010. The last of the Vipers, available in coupe and roadster models, were powered by an 8.4-liter V-10 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

Considering the Damiler line-up of the time, the SP250 was a complete break from Daimler tradition. Sure, there was a slight resemblance to the 2.5 litre six cylinder Conquest roadster of 1953, but the minute you sat behind the wheel of the SP250 you knew the family connection was only as a resemblance - and certainly not of any substance.

In 1959 the SP250 presented as a thoroughly modern sports car, typically British in presentation with padded leather overlay, twin dial instruments directly in front of the driver, and a central minor gauge and switch-gear panel.

The front seats were naturally finished in dead cow, and even a leather steering wheel was available as an option. The rear bench seat was really only for small children, or if you were game you could sit sideways for a short time.

The optional adjustable steering, combined with the adjustable seating ensured the driver could find the best possible driving position so that they could fully enjoy the sweet spinning V8 engine, and well sorted chassis.

In fact, the main criticism when the SP250 was released was reserved for the headlight dimmer switch, it being located on the floor and, as a consequence, made vigorous night driving a chore as your left foot was forced away from the clutch pedal.

A-spec
The original A-spec version could do , but the chassis, a “14-gauge ladder frame with cruciform bracing” based on the Triumph TR3, flexed so much that doors came open, marring its reputation.. Bumpers (fenders) were originally an optional extra.

B-spec
Jaguar bought Daimler in 1960, and were immediately concerned about the chassis flex. They brought out the B-spec version with extra outriggers on the chassis and a strengthening hoop between the A posts. There were also other detail improvements, including an adjustable steering column.

C-spec
There was a C-spec version introduced in 1963 with some additional luxuries as standard equipment.

2,645 were produced.

Jaguar built a prototype replacement (known as the SP252) with a neater body style but decided not to proceed with production.

Ogle Design produced a coupé version called the SX250, but this was not taken up by Daimler and the body design was later used for the Reliant Scimitar.

The 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe is the latest addition to the lineup of Cadillac's best-selling cars. The 2-door coupe joins 4-door sedan and wagon body styles, which see no major changes for 2011. The coupe seats 4 while other versions seat 5. The sedan and wagon reprise 3.0 and 3.6 trim levels. Depending on body style and drivetrain, trim levels include Base, Luxury, and Performance. The coupe comes as the 3.6. The 3.0 uses a 270-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 engine. The 3.6 has a 304-horsepower 3.6-liter V6. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on 3.0 sedans. It's offered as a credit option on 3.6 coupes and sedans. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard on all wagons, coupes, and 3.6 sedans while remaining optional on the 3.0 sedan. Rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is available on all body styles. The high-performance CTS-V is offered in all body styles as well. The coupe and wagon are new for 2011. All are powered by a 556-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V8. It teams with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The CTS-V has GM's Magnetic Ride Control suspension, which automatically adjusts firmness within two driver-selectable modes. "Performance Traction Management" is available on CTS-V. This system is similar to GM's Stabilitrak antiskid system, but it is set to aid performance in spirited driving. The V has an upgraded interior that includes available Recaro-brand seats with 14-way adjustment and a suede-like microfiber wrap for the shift lever and steering wheel. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags. Available features include steering-linked headlamps and keyless entry and ignition. A navigation system is standard on the CTS-V, optional otherwise.

The eAssist powertrain employs a direct-injection 2.4-liter inline-four gasoline engine rated for 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. A motor-generator unit is attached the engine’s accessory belt, offering up to 15 hp and 79 lb-ft of assistance under acceleration, and regenerative braking during deceleration.

GM expects fuel-economy ratings of 25/37 mpg (city/highway) for the LaCrosse eAssist, versus 19/30 mpg for the 2011 LaCrosse four-cylinder. eAssist is also slated to appear on the 2012 Buick Regal later this year.

Four-cylinder models of the 2012 Buick LaCrosse come standard with a new mild hybrid drivetrain, called eAssist, with a 2.4-liter inline-four and electric motor/generator working together for up to a claimed 37 mpg. Buick has now revealed how much the economy gain costs, as the 2012 LaCrosse eAssist is priced from $30,820 after destination charges.

If buyers don’t want to go hybrid, the 2012 LaCrosse can now be ordered with a direct-injection, 3.6-liter V-6 engine at no extra cost. Thanks to a few small revisions for the 2012 model year, the engine now produces 303 hp and 264 lb-ft, improvements of 23 hp and 5 lb-ftover last year’s six-cylinder engine.

The eAssist power pack contains the lithium-ion battery pack, the integrated power inverter and 12V power supply. It is located in a compartment between the rear seat and trunk; and it is surprisingly compact and lightweight, weighing only about 65 pounds (29 kg). Trunk space is slightly reduced when compared with 2011 models with the four-cylinder/six-speed powertrain, but still offers 11.1 cubic feet (314 liters) of storage. A quiet electric fan cools the power pack, drawing air from a vent located in the package tray, behind the rear seat.


The eAssist system's electric induction motor-generator is mounted to the engine in place of the alternator to provide both motor assist and electric-generating functions through a unique engine belt-drive system. The induction motor-generator is a high-performance, compact induction motor that is liquid-cooled for increased performance and efficiency.

Next-generation six-speed

The eAssist system works with Regal's direct injected 2.4L Ecotec four-cylinder and next-generation six-speed automatic powertrain combination. In the Regal with eAssist, the engine is rated at 182 horsepower (136 kW) and the next-generation Hydra-Matic 6T40 takes transmission technology to the next level with features designed to enhance powertrain efficiency.

Significant internal transmission changes to clutch controls and hardware provide reduced spin losses while improving shift response and time. The added electric power provided by the eAssist system allows for higher gearing to improve steady state efficiency without impacting acceleration performance or driveability. The system's ability to provide some electric assistance at cruising speeds allows the driver to accelerate lightly or ascend mild grades without the transmission downshifting.

An auxiliary, electric-driven transmission oil pump is added to the 6T40, which keeps the transmission primed and the fluid flowing when the engine shuts down at a stop. That keeps the transmission ready to perform when the driver accelerates, for a seamless, uncompromised driving experience.

modern world.

Beneath the bonnet, which folds back from both sides, there resides a 16-cylinder, 8-litre engine with
twostage supercharging. What makes this engine special is that it was developed as a flex-fuel engine and can optional be run on ethanol. Four-wheel drive, specially developed ceramic brakes and a new suspension design enable the agile, always-sure handling of a saloon of this size.

The interior reflects the elemental design of the exterior. The dash panel has been reduced to the essential; two centrally located main instruments keep even the rear passengers constantly informed of the actual speed and previous performance. Parmigiani, the Swiss maker of fine watches, created the removable Reverso Tourbillon clock for the Galibier, which may be worn on the wrist thanks to a cleverly designed leather strap.
